Rashida McPatie is a seasoned entrepreneur and business leader with a strong track record in renewable energy, logistics, and corporate governance. As the Managing Director of Letsatsi Power since its inception in 2008, she has played a pivotal role in advancing solar energy solutions across Southern Africa. Under her leadership, Letsatsi Power has spearheaded large-scale renewable energy projects, including a 50MW solar capacity initiative with a 234MW battery storage system and power purchase agreements (PPAs) with key stakeholders like ZESCO.
With a background in accounting and extensive experience in business management, Rashida has successfully navigated complex financial planning, project development, and regulatory frameworks in the energy sector. She has also been instrumental in fostering strategic partnerships, including joint ventures for solar projects in Zambia and South Africa.
Beyond her corporate achievements, Rashida is dedicated to philanthropy and community development. She serves as the Matron of Dr. Kim’s Golf Invitational, a charity golf tournament in Botswana that supports orphans, the elderly, and disadvantaged communities. Her leadership extends beyond business, demonstrating a commitment to sustainable development, corporate social responsibility, and empowering communities through clean energy solutions.
